Pepper spray, bullets, noise and phony valets - it's gangsta' heaven time on Lowest Greenville

The past few weekends have seen a large uptick in the amount of violent incidents on Lowest Greenville. DPD put out a heavy force on Saturday evening to counteract the impact of human garbage carrying weapons.

Last weekend, a shooting on Monday morning left one person injured with a bullet in the arm.

This past Thursday evening, a fight in Club 180 was cleared by pepper spray on the crowd. (report here). Sources tell BD 180's management refused to render aid to injured patrons, forcing them into the street and closing the doors. Staff from another club helped a few patrons and notified DPD (and TABC). This incident was repeated again this past Sunday evening - same club, same pepper spray, same disposing of the patrons and closing the doors behind them.

At closing time on Friday night (Saturday morning), another human POS tried to do his best terrorist imitation and started shooting a weapon into the air upon exiting Club 180. BD can't find the standard DPD report yet, but here's the summary as recounted in the DPD's Lowest Greenville Weekend Update -

Shots were fired into the air by patrons that exited Club 180. The suspects attempted to flee the area [in a vehicle] at a high rate of speed.

Officers in the area were on high alert, and located the suspect's vehicle. A car chase started that led to a foot chase. Officers ran down a dark alley littered with broken glass and debris after the passenger of the vehicle, risking their lives in the process.

The passenger was located and arrested after hand-to-hand combat. A loaded gun was found nearby. The driver of the vehicle realized it was better for him not to flee, and was arrested in the car.

Because of the team effort of the involved officers, two dangerous suspects were taken off the street.

Earlier Friday evening, Lost Society's owner was cited for noise issues after a live band and alleged comedian show on the roof of the building resonated through the neighborhood (BD heard the act - it was offensive and targeted every race, bar owner and DPD officer within 100 feet of the building). You know things are bad when BD starts getting calls from both neighborhood residents and business owners, asking for help to get the DPD on the scene. BD made the first call at 730pm while buying dinner at Taco Cabana, and even though the owner was cited around 9pm, the show was not shut down until 1130pm. Inquiring minds want to know - Why did it take four hours for the DPD to shut down the party?

Finally, just because someone says they are a valet driver and wears a red jacket does not mean they are a valet driver. An unsuspecting patron parked her car at a local business parking lot (BD is not releasing the name until that business completes its investigation) about 730pm. She was approached by a black male wearing a red jacket and told it would cost $10 to park, which she paid. She returned to the parking lot about 2am and found her car towed off. The same scam happened on Saturday evening - five cars were eventually towed.

In closing, a private message to the local property owner who said, "There's no more crime on Lowest Greenville than anywhere else in town. It just looks like more because BD keeps posting stories about all the bad stuff (not sic)." BD's answer - When you wake up in the morning and look in the mirror, do you really believe all the garbage you are spouting? Instead of counting the money you collect from scummy gangbar owners, try counting your blessings that no one has been shot on your properties. Run over by a car numerous times, yes, but not shot."
